Mil throwing shower at 37 weeks!

My Dh and I have been on Mil for months about deciding when she is going to throw the baby shower. She refused to give us a date and kept telling us that he would let is know well before the shower. She kept saying she wanted to have it closer to due date but when she told us June 9th was her final decision my jaw dropped! I'm due JULY 1ST! Am I the only one who thinks that is entirely too close? Or am I just being paranoid? I feel like my water could break right there in her living room.
