Who is the rude one here?

Ok...so I am the MTB and to help my mom, I addressed and sent the shower invites for my baby shower. One of my family member, which is a 30 year old woman, has a new girlfriend...which dresses and acts like a boy. So being I have only met the GF 3 times, I didn't put her on the invite. It only said "Jane Smith". Simple right? NOPE! Jane texted me and said that she got her invite but was still wondering if her new gf was actually invited. I didn't want to be rude but why put me, the MTB, not even the hostess, in this situation when the invite clearly did not say her GF's name. I found it extremely rude to ask for your date to come....Am I the rude one here for saying no?
