Seasonal Allergies

I just had the worst night with my allergies I've had in my life. I'm afraid to take any medicine even though Claritin and Benadryl are "probably safe." Has anyone tried the Neti pot? Any other ideas? I wouldn't mind suffering through it so much except my mom is flying in for a week, I have to work and my shower and maternity photo shoot are on Saturday. Plus my eyes look like Garfield's and my nose Rudolph!
