I've had intermittent high blood pressue during this trimester but it's been fine for a few weeks now. Still, the doctor said to call if I experience any signs of pre-E. Tonight I woke up with really severe swelling in my left hand, and worse than usual, but not as bad, swelling in my right. I had a long day and was driving a lot, plus my dinner was higher in sodium than usual, and I was sleeping on my left hand so those could all contribute to the swelling, but obviously I don't want to ake any chances.
I don't remember if my doctor said to call ASAP for swelling, or just to call, so I don't know whether I should bother him in the middle of the night, or wait till morning. I know pre-E is life threatening, but is it "Call at 3 am because you could be dead by 8" life threatening, or should I wait until the office is open to call?
