Please tell me if labor is near...

I know everyone's experience is different. I had my bloody show this morning (that sounds so gross). I've been feeling cramping all day and some contractions here and there, but nothing I couldn't breathe through. My doctors assistant told me when I called this morning it's "the beginning of the end". She said labor could start today, tonight or in the next day or two. I guess I'm looking for some type of average time until labor based on other people's experiences. I lost my mucous plug Saturday, which was just clear/yellowish, if that means anything (at 39 weeks 2 days). Please tell me what you know about how long I'll probably be waiting for timetable contractions....
