I need some help and suggestions

I did read the FAQ- I have a canon rebel with the kit and recently purchased the 50mm f1.8 lens.  I am 38 weeks pregnant with my second (I have a 3 year old as well)- and I am hoping to try my hand at taking some newborn pics... I have great light in my home- but I am wondering what kind of props I should consider ordering...   Should I buy a bean bag chair, or something to use for backdrops?  I would love to capture some great shots of the 2 girls together.

 The other issue I have- is a few months ago my computer died and as such we lost about a year and a half of photos.  I have everything before that backed up on disk.  My husband has now invested in an auto back up system.  But I think from now on I will routinely order photobooks for the girls.  Recommendations?

Also- what kind of online editor should I use?  I don't minding paying- although I don't want to spend more than I need at this point.  Most of my pictures will be for friends and family.
