Colposcopy at 32 weeks??

Doctor wants to do a colposcopy on the 16th. I will be 32 weeks pregnant at that point. Why cant it wait? They say that they would just put the solution on my cervex to check for abnormal cells and if it was a lot then they would do that actual procedure. Why not wait until after the baby?
