Tell me about your Camera

We bought a new camera when we had our first a little over two years ago. Spent decent money on it, only for it to stink! it could not get good pics of her at all! She's been energetic since the day she was born so sitting still for a pic never happened, and all pics came out blurry! My aunt does photography for a hobby and she couldn't even get a clear pic of her with my camera! Number two is on the way and I would like to invest in a camera that will actually take nice pics of my baby and toddler! Anyone have any suggestions? I've been looking at the larger more "beginner professional" cameras but i'm nervous i wont be able to figure out how to use it?  Thanks!
