anyone awake? could use some insight

I've been up since 3:00am with what I believe are contractions (very painful menstrual-like cramps & backache...........most include tightening of the stomach) ranging anywhere from 3-10minutes apart.  I got up and took a shower.  The tightening remained, but it is less painful when I am standing as opposed to sitting or lying down.  I also had a small amount of brownish tinted discharge on my pad this morning.  I am 38 weeks today and will be having a repeat c-section.  Do these symptoms sound worthy of a call to labor & delivery or should I just wait and see if they progress?  Man am I tired!!
