Contractions

March 2013 in 3rd Trimester

I am 36 weeks, 2 days pregnant today and I had an appointment with my OB. While I had my non-stress test I was apparently having pretty regular contractions but I'm not feeling anything. He checked to see if I was dilated at all but I'm not. He said if my water breaks then I need to immediately go to the hospital. Now I'm worried my water won't break and I don't know that I'm having contractions because I'm not feeling them. How will I know to go to the hospital?
