scared of epidural

Hello, I am being induced at 37 weeks due to some pretty complex medical issues. I know I will want an epidural, however, last time I delivered the Anesthesiologist "wet Tapped" me and it took him 3 times to get the needle placed. He also had to re numb the spine a few times and it took over an hour and a half to set the damn thing. I had a giant gash in my spine that my spinal fluid leaked out of. On top of that the normal treatment of a blood patch was a complete failure. I was in agonizing pain for more than 14 days. Any minute of that pain was far worse than the pain I felt during labor (the epi never did work BTW). So here is my question, Does anyone know how to make sure you get a competent Anesthesiologist verses an inexperienced moron?
