timeable but not painful contractions...

I've been having a lot of cramping and lower back pain today. Starting about an hour ago I've been having contractions 3-5 minutes apart. They don't hurt, just uncomfortable tightening like BH. Would you call, or wait and see if things progress? Our 2 yo is sleeping, so if we go to the hospital we would have someone come to the house to sit with him. Ugh, can't my water just break so I'd know for sure!
