I wasn't sure which board would yield the best answers to this question, but this one seemed like a good place to start! I am pregnant with my first and plan on making my own baby food. I have been dabbling in pickling and canning this year (only with a water bath, have not yet used a pressure cooker) and I felt like it would make sense to spend a couple days making enough baby food for up to 6 months. My fear in this is that I am still a relative novice in canning and the absolute worst would be to unwittingly can up some botulism for the baby.
Many moms love simply making a batch of baby food and then freezing it in 1 oz. ice cube trays. This seems reasonably safe and easy, but I was just wondering about how long will the baby food last in a freezer before getting freezer burn and being unpalatable? Just sort of looking for advice or suggestions from anyone with experience with this!
