formula feeding instead of breast

My husband and I have decided that this baby will be formula-fed from the beginning.  I know breast is best but this is my 3rd child and I have come to realize that breast feeding isn't for me.  Are there any BTDT mom's of formula-fed babies from day 1?  What should I expect at the hospital?  How do we know what formula to choose?  I'm thinking that we will get several types of bottles/nipples and see what works best and then purchase more of whatever is working.  Is that what we should do?
