When faced with a smoke detector that wouldn't shut the eff up today, I did what I usually do and jammed it into my tummy to muffle the sound as I ran for the door to heave it outdoors.  Only this time, I got a pretty indignant kick in response!  Sorry little guy, forgot you were in there for a minute.
