Progress labor on bed rest?

March 2013 in 3rd Trimester

I am on day 5 of bed rest for preeclampsia (protein 700 but normal BP at home). They plan to induce me sometime this week, but I am already dilating and effacing on my own. The thing that drives me the craziest is that I have contractions every time I stand up, and I know I could get it going if I was allowed to walk around. Is there anything I can do while confined to the bed to get my labor going?
