Help Designing a Baby Budget

STMs, what do you estimate to be the monthly costs of having a newborn? I know there are different lifestyles and decisions to be factored, but I'm trying to figure out what I'll be spending so I can design a new budget for our family of 3.

I'm not going to need child care for at least the first four months (I will be on maternity leave). I am planning to breastfeed, so I will not be purchasing formula. We are planning to get all major purchases (crib, stroller, car seat, etc.) done before LO arrives. I will be buying disposable diapers, wipes, and I'm sure lots of clothing as babies grow quickly.

I live in a very expensive city (San Diego) so that may need to be factored in as well. Obviously, costs will increase as baby gets older and needs food and day care, but for now I'm just thinking about the added expense of the first few months.

What did you end up spending during those first months?
