Bassinet or Pack n Play?

2nd time moms, which is better? We plan on have LO sleep in our room for the first few months, and then transitioning to his or her own crib, since the nursery is just a few steps from our bedroom. I really don't see myself using a play pen beyond the first month or so as a temporary crib. Is it really worth it, or can we just stick to the bassinet?

 

ETA: OR, since space is an issue, am I better off just skipping both and starting off with baby in the nursery from the get go? I'm planning on BF, but DH doesn't get much time off, and he'll need his sleep.
