Fetal Monitoring??

I am currently 29 weeks. I went to the Dr today. My blood pressure was high yet again. It always is when I go to the dr. When I check it at work, it is always really good. I know it has a lot to do w/ anxiety. OB said today that I am going to start coming once a week @ 32 weeks. She said then she would hook me up to the monitoring. I was wondering if anyone else has had to have this. Also, if so... why????
