Did your husband/partner attend breastfeeding class with you?

My husband has been there for me every step of the way. He's never missed a doctor's appointment or a child birthing class. But when it comes to the Breastfeeding class, it recommends that I bring my partner. Is it really necessary that he attend. I know that most likely the purpose is for extra "support," but I'm confortable with him not attending. Is there something I'm missing here that he SHOULD be going? Thanks!
