High TSH, prescribed synthroid

I guess as part of my RE's normal process, my RE drew my TSH yesterday along with beta #2 and p4. My TSH came back as 2.54 and they want to see it below 2.5. Sheesh, I barely missed the cutoff. I've never had an elevated thyroid before but my RE's nurse said it's pretty normal during pregnancy.

Anyway, now the nurse says I need to take .025 mg of synthroid for my whole pregnancy! I'm figuring it's just par for the course and will gladly do whatever it takes to be healthy, but I've never heard of this until today.

Did anyone else's RE check their TSH? Was yours high too? Anyone on synthroid? Would love to hear your experiences and info!
