Difficulty with HR

So I broke the news to my immediate supervisors and coworkers 2 weeks ago. After that I tried to notify HR by email and didn't hear back for over a week. Today I followed up by phone and got my HR rep's VM. Anyone else think this is weird or have similar trouble with their company's HR dept? I mean, the woman could be on vacation, I guess, but it'd be an awfully long one. And I don't mean to act like my pregnancy is such a big deal, but it does seem like the kind of thing you'd think an HR person would make a priority. I'm just looking for confirmation that they received the message and are aware of the situation and also want a copy of the company maternity policy.
