Plug or no plug?

I am 37 weeks and 1 day.. This morning I noticed a chunky brownish red discharge in the toilet after going to the bathroom.. I've also had this discharge in my underwear today it seems like its just a lot of brownish discharge.. I did have an internal exam done Friday and also had intercourse Friday too so not sure if this is just due to the internal and intercourse or if It could be my plug.. I am about 2cm dilated now. Is there any real way to decifier between the plug and just irritation?
