Painting a glider?

We are expecting baby #2 in April. We will be using all of DS's furniture which is white, minus the glider. The glider is black. Not sure what the hell I was ever thinking getting a black glider when the rest of the furniture is white. Anyways, do you think it is possible to refinish it and paint or spray paint it white? No idea if this would work or how hard it would be. The mis-match furniture is really bothering me though! Thoughts?
