Full-time infant day care

In my area there's a year+ wait list on most of (at least the good) day care centers, so I started researching before I starting telling folks I was pregnant.  (felt crazy, but it's what you have to do here)

Once I started telling people, I was advised to look at NAYCE accreditation, but found many of those had disconcerting complaints on the state monitoring reports, while there were ones without NAYCE accreditation which had very positive monitoring reports.  

Wondering if anyone else out there, who has also started looking at places because they are likewise in a competitive market, has any thoughts or advice or reassurance on this stressful subject?
