Alright, rec your detergent

I'm thoroughly confused here after reading the zillion deterent posts today and would love some experiences/opinions. I was going to just use All free clear powder. But...maybe it's not the best option?

We have semi hard water. Any experiences with specific detergents being better for hard water? Also, our washer is a top loader.

Last, do we need to ditch liquid detergent altogether? H loves the heavily scented stuff for his clothes, so we use a scented liquid detergent for our stuff. I sometimes see a blue film left on the inside of our washer. Will that eff with CDs or the effectiveness of a CD specific detergent?

I appreciate any wisdom; I'd rather get something that's less likely to cause problems from the get go. :]
