Hematoma at 12 weeks

Has anyone experienced a hematoma in the uterus during pregnancy? We had a big scare last night- started having heavy red bleeding with no cramps. Doctor on call said it sounded like a miscarriage so I was beyond hysterical. The bleeding slowed down and was just present when I would pee or wipe- blood is now brown. We had our 12 week NT scan this morning and we were shocked to see a bouncing baby with 10 fingers and 10 toes. Ultrasound doctor saw a hematoma about an inch big. Doctor said I could continue to bleed until the clot passes. As long as blood is brown then we are okay. Obviously our risk of miscarriage has increased.

 Has anyone else experienced this???
