Baby shower question (already!)

My friend has offered to throw me a shower. We were talking tonight and she mentioned having it toward the middle of May. This seems really early to me? Should I mention having the shower later? I feel kind of bad saying anything because showers can get expensive and I appreciate her throwing me one but... Any advice?
