Sling colors?

I'm wondering if I should get a gender neutral color of sling or a color that I myself like? I'm pregnant with a girl, DH and I know we will try again and so I'm choosing a lot of things like a travel system and other things that could work for either gender. Is a sling something baby gender specific or mom's preference specific?

I would wear pink every day if I could.
