Unexpected day off work

So I get to work after dragging my poor congested butt out of bed to be told by the special ed teacher that my little guys parents just texted to say they are keeping him home for his little brother's birthday and they don't need me anywhere else. Yay unexpected day off to sleep, be miserable and possibly go hit some baby stores if feeling up to it. Boo not getting paid a day and not getting that message an hour before when I could have just stayed in bed. Anybody else get the day off?
