those of you preg with twins..please come in

So at my first few appointments I've been told that I am measuring bigger. Today at my appointment my midwife seemed to find what seemed like two heartbeats but she isn't for sure so she had me schedule an ultrasound to find out and date the pregnancy as well. My question is, did any of you have a suspicion you were pregnant with twins or was it a total surprise? And were you able to hear two heartbeats on a doppler??
