annoyed/confused

I went to my dr yesterday at 40w1d and was still only 1cm. There are multiple doctors in my practice, so you see a different one every time.... everything I have read or heard from other doctors, says that dilation doesn't really matter, but this doctor was going on and on about how if I need to get induced it's going to take a LONG time and be a slow going labor etc etc. Kinda freaked me out.

 I want to push back induction as long as they will let me to give her time to come by herself, so as of right now I will need to be induced on 16th if she doesnt come before that.

Anyone out there have any "I was only 1cm dilated and she came the next day" stories to cheer me up?
