Discourage bottle self-feeding?

I work and my baby gets expressed breastmilk from a bottle. My nanny told me yesterday that he wanted to hold and feed himself from the bottle, so she let him. Do I want to discourage this? I want to make sure he doesn't start prefering the bottle over breast. I have read that some babies will if they realize they can look around while eating.
