Would you still announce....?

I had an appointment at 10 weeks 1 day and got to hear the heartbeat only on the Doppler though. My dr won't let me come back until I'm 15 weeks!! I haven't had an ultrasound and I think I have to wait until I find out the gender. I'm nervous to announce because I had a miscarriage in July 2012 at 8 weeks. But I want to announce hoping that this one is still there! Only family and a few friends know right now...What would you do?
