XP: Dog Anxiety

I have a 6 year-old Boxer who had bad seperation anxiety as a puppy. He would like the bars of his crate and we would come home to a puddle in the bottom of it. Apparently, he is noticing a change in the winds in these last few weeks and his anxiety is back. We lock him and our 3 year-old Boxer in our kitchen while we are out and he is now licking the bars of the baby gate and occasionally chewing on the door frame on the other side of the room.

Any ideas how to help him stay calm? We used to try the TV or stereo, but it seemed to make the problem worse... I think hearing voices and not seeing anyone made him more upset.
