Is it really THAT bad? I don't think I buy it..

Alright so it seems like people overwhelming talk about how HARD it is having a baby, how you're life ends in so many ways, etc, you stay up late and want to rip your hair out and all this...but of course, you love your baby, etc. (Reference article on bottom of post)

I'm a FTM so this freaks me out. I am not looking forward to feeling lonely and miserable and crying late at night with my baby. I don't think it has to be this way but what do I know as a FTM ?

I guess I just want to know from others who have already been there was it REALLY THAT bad in the beginning and if so do you think you could have done anything differently looking back?

(I know it also depends on the baby and your parenting style.)
