Lost Mucus Plug at 28 Weeks?

Hi Ladies!

I'm 28 weeks and I lost my mucus plug on Saturday night. (It wasn't bloody, but looked like a glob of rubber cement...sorry for TMI!) Cramps/back pain started shortly thereafter, so I went to L&D where they thankfully confirmed I'm not dialated or having true contractions. My OB wants to see me every week until week 32 to confirm I'm not dialating and told me to stop exercising and doing anything that causes cramps.

 

Has anyone ever lost their mucus plug early, but delivered weeks or months later? I've heard it can grow back? I really hope it's not a sign that labor is coming soon, but it's hard not to worry! Thanks in advance
