Returning to work and pumping questions
I had an oversupply which has regulated for the most part. I am currently pumping at night before bed 1 to 1 1/2 hours after LO last eats; LO STTN 8 hours. I pump both sides and get 4 to 5 ounces total. In the morning, I feed off one side and pump the other, getting 5 to 6 ounces from just that side.
LO takes 4 to 5 ounce bottles, and will probably take 3 or 4 when I return to work.
LO usually nurses from one side only, about every 2 hours. Here's my question: since I will be pumping both sides, is it reasonable to start with pumping every 4 hours since that is basically how often she eats and then adjust from there as needed? I see a lot of posts about pumping 3x at work and am wondering how/why you chose the frequency.
