Registry dillemma - Monitors

So DH and I are planning to get the registries started and we're stumped on a monitor. My sister swears by her video monitor, but we can't decide if having the video is worth the extra money for us. Either way I can't seem to find a monitor, video or not, that gets consistently good reviews. It seems that everyone has a love/hate relationship with their monitor. Any suggestions?! Does anyone have one that they couldn't live without. Clearly, we're not opposed to spending the money on a good one if it's worth it and something we think we'll get the most out of.
