Trans from a working mom to stay at home?

DH is currently staying at home while I work. He's been out of work since July '12 after I had an accident and almost cut my toe off. He was my saving grace and still is 3 he helped me relearn to walk and get around. I am 13wks with our first and want to stay home after the birth. How should I tactfully approach the discussion where I wish to stay home and have him be the "breadwinner"? I know at some point Ill likely want a break and some "adult time" but I also want to be able to be there to experience our first child in every aspect.
