A negative blood type

So I called my dr to get the results of my bloodwork and he told me I have A negative blood type which i guess only 15 percent of people have.. My hubby thinks he has B positive which means I will have to get a Rhogam shot. Wasnt aware of my body possibly trying to fight off my baby.. I guess its nothing to worry too much about with the 1st pregnancy.. But when and if we have a 2nd, it might bring some issues i guess..Kinda bummed that there is going to be a few more steps to take to make sure my baby will b ok..Im just not sure about all the facts and statistics on this type of thing...
