STM and insurance question

So my insurance is better than dh insurance but way more expensive. We planned on putting baby on DH insurance for cost but his deductible is higher than mine. If he has open enrollment in November like I do, I'm considering putting baby on mine for a few months and then switching in November. My question is does baby get a separate bill? For those of you with uncomplicated run of the mill deliveries what was the ball park cost of baby's bill? I'm trying to figure out what's going to save us the most in the long run.
