STM: Ultrasound Questions

HI ladies!

I have a question about your 20wk ultrasound and actual due date. Is there a particular measurement the ultrasound tech takes to determine the due date? The reason I ask is- I had a dating ultrasound at almost 14 weeks. It showed, depending on what measurement she was taking, I was 2 weeks ahead of where I'm at right now. What were your experience with what the Dr. considered your due date, based on your ultrasound (I know it isn't always accurate, I would just like to hear from other experiences).

2nd question: were your ultrasounds accurate when determining sex? Were there any difficulties seeing the sex of the baby? My 20wk ultrasound is Feb. 1st & am nervous they won't be able to determine pink or blue (we have an immediate family gender reveal/dinner after our appointment, so I'm hoping we can find out)!
