Dream feed questions

I'm thinking of starting a dream feed for DS before I go to bed. He goes to sleep around 7 and I go to bed around 9. If you do a dream feed, what do you do if you go out for the night? For example, if DH and I have a date night and my mom watches DS after I put him to bed, should I do the dream feed when we get home or just wait until DS wakes ready to eat? Any other tips or suggestions?
