Is Ronen too much like Rowan?

We are having trouble finding a boy name that we like.  I have stayed away from Ronan even though I really like the name.  I have one sister, and she has 4 daughters, the youngest is named Rowan.  Would it be weird or rude to name my son Ronen?  I would specifically choose the -en ending to differ it from Row-an.  I should mention that I live across the country from my sister.  I really like the idea of calling my son Ronen, but I wonder if it's 'off limits'?
