Question about induction

I have a quick question regarding induction.  I am being induced with pitocin on Monday but I have to go in tomorrow (Sunday) for a prostagladin gel.  For those who have had this gel before, what should I expect?  They told me I am going home after placement but do they monitor you for a couple hours before they do that?  Are you supposed to be confined to bed aftewards? I know these are all questions that I should have asked my doctor but I was just so excited to get my induction date last week.  Thanks in advance for your answers!
