Cant BF advice

I need some advice, I'm a little scared.

I will not be able to breast feed my son, who is due in may, more than about 2 weeks.  I have to start cancer treatment and wont even be able to be around him for about a week at all.  I'm sad about it, I would really like to breast feed for at least a few months, but I don't really have a choice in the matter.

My question is, how bad will it hurt to just stop Bfing cold turkey?  Should I be giving him a bottle before I stop to make sure he will take the bottle? Is there anything that helps it not be so bad on my boobs?

I did BF my first for a few months,  but we weaned slowly and my milk just gradually went away without any pain.
