tight frenulum?

My LC says LO has a tight frenulum. I would agree, It's kind of far forward. He can stick his tongue out, and she claims it may stretched over time. Anyone have a tight frenulum snipped, or did it stretch? It does seem latch is less painful, not sure if it could be better or if I just got used to it now 3 wks.
Not EBF, unfortunately, supplementing at every feeding.
