Eating out with a young LO

How do you do it?  Do you nurse your LO right at the restaurant?  Do you pump a bottle and feed LO the bottle?

DS is 10w, and we've only gone out to eat twice since he was born.  first time was when he was 1w; he was such a sleepy newborn that he slept for hours.

Second time was 8w and it was not successful.  I nursed him before we left, but everything just took a long time (getting out of the house, traffic, parking, ordering, etc).  So when our food finally arrived, it was exactly 2hrs since he ate so he woke up and cried.  We ended up wrapping our food to go.

I'm not comfortable with NIP yet, esp not at a restaurant.  So what are my options?  I could pump but it seems more trouble than it's worth (I'm a SAHM so I rarely pump).  Another thought I have is to drive to our destination first, then nurse DS in the car before we go into the restaurant.  Not ideal but perhaps the best option for us right now???
