Weight gain with weaning?

Hi, Ladies!

DD is 14mo and I was nursing 2x day up until about a few weeks ago.  I have been 15lbs under pre-baby weight for a few months now, but in the last couple weeks I have gained 10lbs.  Is it possible that just that 1 extra nursing session was doing so much caloric burning that without it my body starts packin' on the pounds?  Sheesh!  I feel so uncomfortable and I was still 5 lbs heavier when I got pg. 

Anyone experience a lot of weight gain during the weaning process?  I have heard some stories of some women losing the last 5-10lbs once they finally wean, but it seems to be having the opposite effect on me.  Any thoughts?  Tips?
